Wanjiun Liao

 


Wanjiun Liao was born in Taiwan in 1968. She received her BS and MS degrees from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California, USA. She worked at the Telecommunication Labs of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications during 1992-1993, where she was involved in the Intelligent Network project. Since August 1997, she has been an Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Her research interests include multimedia networking, mobile multimedia computing, wireless Internet, and streaming video protocols.

A member of the Phi Tau Phi scholastic honor society, she is a recipient of the Acer Long-Term thesis award, the Chinese IEE (CIEE) Graduate student thesis award, and the outstanding research paper award at USC.
